⭐ The Big One
Pick of the week See Mötley Crüe, Tesla, and Extreme in West Valley City
Mötley Crüe's Return of Carnival of Sins tour stops at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre with Tesla and Extreme. The venue opens its parking lots at 3pm, the plaza at 4pm, and all gates at 5pm for the 6:30pm show.
Our take
Arrive when the plaza opens at 4pm if you want time to clear security, find your section, and see all three bands. General parking is included with a ticket.
⚠️ Heads up: The venue expects heavy traffic. The southeast lots are reserved for premier parking, and the show goes on in rain unless conditions become extreme.

Kearns and Daynes office properties are listed for sale
Hines listed the Kearns Building at 136 S Main Street and the neighboring Daynes Building at 128 S Main Street for sale last week. The 10-story Kearns Building has about 169,000 square feet of office space and completed a $20 million renovation in 2020. It was 62.4% occupied when the listing went live.
Salt Lake's retail vacancy rate fell to 4%
The Salt Lake metro entered the second half of 2026 with a 4% retail vacancy rate, the lowest among the major Mountain West and West Coast markets tracked by Cushman & Wakefield. Builders added about 185,000 square feet during the first six months of the year, compared with 1.3 million square feet in all of 2025. West Valley City was the tightest local submarket at about 1% vacancy.

Book before Thursday Plan all three days of FanX at the Salt Palace
FanX Salt Lake Comic & Pop Culture Convention fills the Salt Palace from Thursday through Saturday with panels, celebrity appearances, cosplay, vendors, and artist booths. The vendor floor opens at 12:45pm Thursday and 10:45am Friday and Saturday.
Our take
Pick up your wristband during pre-registration Wednesday from noon to 8pm if you have a pass. That removes the registration line before the first Thursday panels.
⚠️ Heads up: Admission does not include celebrity autographs or photo ops, and guest schedules can change during the weekend.

Worth the Tuesday night Hear the Revivalists at Red Butte Garden
The Revivalists play the Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre Tuesday with Paul McDonald & the Mourning Doves opening. Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm show on the garden lawn.
Our take
Bring a low chair or blanket and pack dinner instead of trying to eat after the opener starts. The sloped lawn is the whole seating plan.
⚠️ Heads up: Parking near the garden fills before popular shows. Give yourself time to walk from the farther lots.

Skip with young kids See Our Town on Hale Centre Theatre's Beehive Stage
Hale Centre Theatre stages Thornton Wilder's Our Town in its smaller Beehive theater through Oct 24. This week's performances run Monday through Saturday, with a Friday matinee and three Saturday showtimes.
Our take
Choose the Friday 3:30pm performance if you want to avoid a late night. The estimated runtime is 2 hours 25 minutes with two brief intermissions.
⚠️ Heads up: Children under 5 are not admitted, and the long runtime makes this a poor fit for restless younger theatergoers.

Easy Monday dinner Pick dinner from the Hungry Herriman food trucks
Hungry Herriman brings a rotating group of food trucks to J. Lynn Crane Plaza every Monday evening through October. The plaza has room to sit down, and the city posts the truck list on its event page.
Our take
Go near 5pm if your group wants the full truck selection. Later arrivals trade shorter lines at some trucks for sold-out specials at others.
⚠️ Heads up: The lineup changes each week, so check Herriman's calendar before driving for one specific truck.

Worth it for the noodles Order fresh-made bao and hand-pulled noodles at Ting
Ting, also known as Zhu Ting Ji, serves fresh-made bao, hand-pulled noodles, and Szechuan dishes from a small Taylorsville dining room. The kitchen makes the dough-heavy part of the menu in-house, so build the meal around dumplings or noodles instead of treating them as sides.
Our take
Order one basket of bao and one noodle dish per two people, then add a vegetable or Szechuan plate. That gives you both sides of the kitchen without covering the table in leftovers.
⚠️ Heads up: The restaurant closes from 2:30pm to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday.

👨👩👧 Family & Free
Best free family stop Spend National Public Lands Day at Liberty Park
Salt Lake City is holding a free National Public Lands Day celebration at Liberty Park Saturday afternoon. Families can follow a story walk and scavenger hunt on the 9-Line Trail, then find crafts, face painting, inflatables, food trucks, and live music near the park.
Our take
Start with the story walk before the kids settle into the inflatables. The trail activity gives the afternoon a beginning instead of turning it into a lap between booths.
⚠️ Heads up: The city may postpone or cancel the event for bad weather, so check the event page Saturday morning if rain moves in.
